It depends on what your needs are, but when push comes to shove I have found that Corel Aftershot Pro is capable of pulling content from the edges of exposure in a way that neither RT nor Darktable can touch. I wonder how hard it is to port programs from Win or iOS to linux. I currently use Elementary OS (on an old secondary machine) for internet and general office work because the UI is wonderful it is easy to use, and the progrms are FREE!.

I would pay the full windows price for a top rank program on Linux if something like DXO Photolab or Lightroom were available.Ī really good RAW converter/Editor is the only thing keeping me from going to Linux for good. Raw Therapee is a little difficult for me to use because it's not apparent to me what some of the sliders actually do. Can use them, but don't like Dark table or Raw Therapee on Linux. Converted my laptop to Linux and use it with no problems. Had it on my laptop and have it on my wife's machine. My trusty Win 7 box will be without support after 2019 and I don't like Windows 10.
